Supernatural's Season 7 Finale has awakened the silent majority...

As long-time SPN fans, we have trusted writers, directors, & producers to understand

the heart of Supernatural : the Winchester brothers' story. For six and a half years, they
remained true to that. But after a rapid decline in quality and loss of the central story,
we have concluded that they have lost their way.

So now we are speaking up. Disappointed in the final result of Season 7? Wondering

where Dean and Sam's' story went? You are not alone. Join us and add your voice
for better Season 8. Bring back the heart of our show!
HOW TO CONTACT WRITERS/PRODUCERS/NETWORK:

Letters still represent the best method to get your voice heard. With the ease of social media, letters are more rare than ever in production  and network offices. But they are also a physical thing. An email can be deleted. A tweet can get lost. Letters you can hold in your hand. They’re harder to ignore.

If you care about getting heard, this is the best method to use. Carve out a little bit of time, draft one letter, and use the addresses below to send copies of that letter to each address. Be sure to include the spn-silentmajority link in your letter.

LETTER WRITING GUIDELINES:

  • Make an outline. Such as: (1) State your main complaint, (2) Offer examples to illustrate, (3) Why do you feel this way?, (4) What would you hope to see?
  • Be respectful. Reread to make sure your tone isn’t offending.
  • Keep it simple but thoughtful. Get a friend to read it. Then ask them what they got out of it.
  • Keep your criticism constructive. This will be the most informative to the reader.
  • Include a cover letter: business letter format, single-page, introduce your case (example below)
  • Sign with your “stats”: This is important to the studio/network. Sign/print your name along with your demographic info — (1) age, (2) gender, (3) primary state/country of residence.
  • Use a highlighter. Have a line or two in your letter that really sums up your feelings? Is it a line you hope, if someone picked up your letter and read one line, that would be the one? Highlight it.
  • Optional other info to include in the body of the letter: (4) how long you’ve been watching the show, (5) how you discovered the show, (6) how you support the show (e.g. buy dvds/merchandise, participate in fannish circles, etc)

LETTER-WRITING RESOURCES:

1) Contact addresses: Addresses for Supernatural’s writers, producers, studio, and network can be found at the bottom of our CONTACTS page

2) Letter Guidelines: Some simple guidelines for writing/sending letters can be found at the top of our CONTACTS page

4) Sample Content Letter: [VIEW] [PDF]

5) Extra Print-Outs: Strength is in numbers. Include a few pages of Comment Caps [VIEW] [PDF] | “18-35 male demo”-specific comment caps [VIEW] [PDF]

SAMPLE CONTENT LETTER:

Our team has crafted the content letter below to communicate what was most important for us. This, accompanied by the cover letter linked above, will be what the six of us will personally send. We do not expect everyone to agree with this. We’re merely putting it up as a sample. If you like it and feel it communicates what you wanted to say to them as well, we’ve provided it for you below. Our suggestion? Grab a highlighter and highlight specific lines that are important to you.

If you don’t like what this letter says, if you don’t agree, want to say more or something different, or just want to write in your own words? That’s perfectly fine too. This is merely one example. We invite you to share your own with us as you write them. It’d certainly be neat to have an online collection of some of them.
